Chris Sorensen
Founder
interest in breeding. In competition Chris was on the gold medal team for Canada as Young Rider and continued his success to represent Canada around the world and at major Championships. In the industry, Chris’s participation continued to expand with connections to all Olympic sports in Canada through business. Through coaching with his wife Whitney Sorensen, they ran one of Canada’s largest and most successful training stables at the time. He coached students and horses to national championships in Hunters, Equitation and Jumpers. Students also went on to represent Canada in the US hunter divisions winning circuit championships in Wellington, US indoor championships, and Derby finals results. Equitation students ribboned in US finals and jumper students went on to represent Canada and the US on youth and national teams. In 2016 Whitney and Chris moved to Europe to concentrate on their buying and selling business that had grown to supply many of North America’s top stables. The other facet of moving to Europe, was to empower their interest and grow breeding operations. Chris, still pursuing the sport, saw the European model of having a pipeline of horses as the more sustainable and most successful model in the top level of sport.
Since 2016 the sales business has grown and the Sorensen’s have done such successful events as The Hunt Auction and the Pinch Punch online market place. Chris has also given back to the sport as a member of the Equestrian Canada Board of Directors and president of the National federation through the difficult times of Covid.
Still, breeding and sport are where the heart is. Out of that desire for a competitive edge, to give our horses the best retirement, and to create the next generation of super stars Equine Nursery was born. This project sees the culmination of a lifetime of learning about horses, and sport, combined with competitive drive to be world class.
Chris has been around horses his entire life with his great grandfather a breeder and Aunt heavily involved in the Thoroughbred racing industry. As a rider and trainer he was exposed early to the magic of horse sport. Setting foot in the competition ring early, he was exposed, locally, to hunters, equitation, and jumpers which eventually took him to the international stage. At a young age, Chris already had worked and trained in both North America and Europe, which gave him an early education on strengths and differences in each system as well as an early
Megan Armit

Manager
Megan has been a part of our team and family since 2009. She has traveled the world to the championships level with Chris’s horses. She managed our 60 horse training operation all over North America and everything in between. Megan has extensive knowledge of every facet of caring for horses and has lived and breathed the elite way we like to do things for 15 years. That is why there is no one we could trust more to take care of our retired horses than the person that traveled the world with them. This is why we trust her with ensuring the development of our future stars. Megan was selected to run this part of our operation because of her dedication and skill, but also because we are putting our biggest resources into making this program world class. Megan coordinates our team of vets, farriers, and every person working on this world class team.
